Monte Carlo StyleThe 2006 Helping Austin Gala, Monte Carlo Style, will be held August 5, 7:30 pm at the Jackson Walker Law Firm in downtown Austin. The Gala is held in honor of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas (BBBS). Live music, various foods and an all-encompassing silent auction can be expected at the 2006 gala. There are corporate and individual sponsorships available and volunteers are always welcome. Keep checking back for more information or visit www.helpingaustin.org. Last year's gala, themed “A Trip Around the World”, was Helping Austin’s first annual fundraising event. It showcased a myriad of worldly themes with foods and music from around the globe. Among the night’s entertainment, a dynamic live auction raised the vast majority of proceeds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas (BBBS). Ticket sales were certainly a large portion of profit at the event, with a headcount totaling approximately 175 on Saturday, August 6, 2005. The event raised more than $8,000 for the Central Texas chapter of BBBS. Helping Austin was formed in May 2004 to aid local charities in increasing their program resources. By partnering with these Central Texas organizations, Helping Austin not only provides financial assistance, but also facilitates public outreach and awareness of community issues. |
